    Self-guided tour of Schenectady’s Stockade section using the maps and audio provided by the Stockade Association at the above link and at the GEOCASTS below.  The Stockade was designated New York State’s first Historic District in 1962. The walking tour features stops along the streets of the original Stockade. Each stop tells a unique story about the architecture and people who helped shape Schenectady’s 350 year history.

    There are recordings for each of the places listed below.  It is best to follow the tour sequentially.
