Junction of Madison and Western / 1831 train journey.
Junction1: A silhouette artist named William H. Brown happened to be in Albany on the day of the train journey. He made a sketch and then a silhouette cutout of the locomotive, tender, and first two passenger carriages. According to several accounts, they showed the equipment and people with impressive accuracy — people even claimed they could recognize individuals from their silhouettes. The piece is now in the collection of the Connecticut Historical Society.HEAR about HERE
